It has been one year since I started losing my hair due to chemo. At the time, I knew, having dealt with the chemo-cut before, that my hair was soon going to run away like kids after the teacher says It’s recess time. I thought it would be fun to just whack at my hair with a pair of scissors because I’d never gone all intense-movie-montage on hair before. I wrote about that in an earlier blog post. However, I didn’t show too many pictures of it. The husband and kids got in on the chopping action too.
Now one year later, it is starting to look more like a hairstyle rather than just hair growth. Last night, I took pictures when I was fresh out of the shower. In the first two pictures, my hair is just towel fluffed. In the last, it is combed, but does the flip all on its own.
This morning I was trying to figure out how to accurately portray how long it is because it is so hard to do. So I got the brilliant idea to just stick my fingers in my hair. I’m a genius!
My hair is slightly able to hide my hand! I like this picture because you can see how curly my hair is now, especially in light of the photos from last year.It is also much, much thicker than it was before.
Also, I have no idea how to style this new hair of mine, so I constantly look like I just took off a hat. I guess I’m going to have to figure it out.
